With her unique blend of eclectic influences ranging from soul, hip-hop, and future bass, Nevada Knight is Southpaw, producer and vocalist from Australia.

Having recently released a collaborative EP with local beatsmith Slamagotchi as The Lowe, she’s continued to dive head first into producing with her debut release on Unspeakable Records - drawing heavily from the soul of classic RnB, with airy synths and dreamy vocals, Southpaw has definitely defined her sound within the electronic scene.

Growing up, Nevada was submersed with all kinds of music from her household of Jazz and Soul to the neighborhood of hiphop heads. After finding an old re-writable radio on the side of the road Nevada would spend hours creating radio shows and recording over tapes again and again and sharing them around.

When she was old enough she started to play at local bass nights, blending different genres including Footwork, Grime. Soon after, she began to dabble in production adding remixes to her sets. The love of production quickly took over, which led her to study at Ableton Liveschool in Sydney, AU. Whilst in Sydney, she also founded a monthly club night “Paper Garden”, which acts as a live platform for local producers with a heavy focus on experimental beats and bass. Through this she was asked to host her own radio show of the same name on Bondi Beach Radio.

After 3 years in Sydney Nevada made the decision to take all the knowledge she had gained and return to her hometown of Adelaide. She continues to run her night Paper Garden and give exposure to local beat makers at Ancient World, and hosts Carousel on the newly revamped (An online live streaming radio station).
