LA-based producer Tiffany Duke (a.k.a Kingzquest) wants to make a movie for your ears. Like so many other ‘90s kids, she grew up playing MS-DOS horror games like Dark Seed and Alone In The Dark, but it wasn’t the graphics she was into—it was the nightmare-inducing way each game used music and sound to build a world that felt completely real. Along the way, she picked up the violin and piano. She also continued to pursue her audio obsession in film school, recording and sound-editing films.
Interested in the organic feel that comes from field recordings, she started to sample and incorporate real-life sounds into her own music (think everything from a dying Furby to water inside of a Dominican Republic cave). The end result: Tracks that are varied, engaging, and just a little spooky.
